About Northern Lites
Our snowshoes will last longer, bring you more joy on the snow, and trust us, your legs will thank you after each trip.
Family Owned & Operated
Small, family-run businesses are the lifeblood of America's economy and entrepreneurial spirit. Your Northern Lites snowshoes are hand-crafted by either Ted Dunn (middle, owner) or one of his two sons, Wesley and Tanner.
Made in America Since 1992
Since 1992, being Made in the USA has been very important to us. Every snowshoe that carries our name is made at our Englewood, Colorado location (above). Long-lasting relationships with our suppliers ensure quality components are always used.
Small Batches & Craftsmanship
Snowshoes require craftsmanship and a human touch. We hand-assemble and inspect every component of our snowshoes and do as much as we can in-house (such as printing artwork on our snowshoe decks).
Some of Our Values
Standing Behind our Snowshoes
We pride ourselves on how durable our snowshoes are while at the same time being the lightest around. We attribute this to using the best components we can find. To reflect this and build your trust, we offer an industry-leading limited lifetime warranty on all of our snowshoes.
Customer Support and Service
Although sometimes it seems harder and harder to find, we know how important customer service is. When you call, email or chat with us on our website, you will speak with someone that is extremely familiar with our snowshoes and everything snowshoeing.
Sustainability
Cheap snowshoes can end up in the landfill very quickly. Not ours. Not only will our snowshoes last a long time, we can repair almost any snowshoe we've made since 1992 in our shop at-cost. We recycle everything we can, and try our best to choose environmentally conscious suppliers.
Supporting Athletes
Although you may not be familiar with it, snowshoe racing is a very competitive sport that takes place all over the colder climates of the world. We've always supported snowshoe racing by sponsoring local and regional snowshoe races, athletes that wear Northern Lites, and try to sponsor the United States Snowshoe Association Nationals race championship in the United States every year.
