Using the rear hand-knob, you can untether the Clam and take advantage of the rear window to take pictures or video.

What phones does the Clam hold?

It holds any phone from 4" to 7" measured diagonally. If you use a phone case, you may have to remove the case to ensure a proper fit inside the Clam. 

Can I use my phone while it's inside?

Yes, the Clam's screen is touchscreen ready thanks to the gelpad that pushes your phone forward.

Can I take images or video while my phone is inside?

Yes, there is a rear window to utilize your phones camera while your phone is safe inside. 

Can I operate or adjust it easily?

Yes, with one hand you simply loosen the rear knob and adjust the Clam. You can untether it and use it as a standalone waterproof phone case as well.

Will this fit my paddle board?

If it has D-rings on the top or bottom of the paddle board, it almost certainly will. We developed our mounting kits to be unversally mountable. We're so confident that we allow FREE 30-day returns (we pay return shipping!). 

 

To be certain, measure your D-rings and if they are between 13.5" and 23" apart, both our Lite and Elite mounting kits will fit. 

Can I use other accessories with this mounting kit?

Yes, every single Northern Lites SUP Angler accessory will fit into every mounting kit accessory port, regardless of the model or make. 

Do I need to worry about scratching my paddle board? 

No, you do not need to worry. Here's why:

  • We designed the mounting kits to be totally smooth on the bottom
  • We machine-sand the edges so that they are smooth to the touch with rounded edges
  • The straps never come in contact with the paddle board - only the smooth base of the mounting boards

How secure is the mounting kit?

You'll be amazed how sturdy and secure the paddle board mounting kit is. You can troll from them, put our paddle holders on them, mount fish-finders on them, and much, much more. The adhesive or stitching that holds your paddle boards D-rings in place is incredibly strong, strong enough that the same adhesive is used to secure paddle board seats!
